Have you ever written something on LinkedIn?
Or posted a video? Or shared a picture?
And *crickets*...
Zero. Zip. Nobody paying attention.
That feeling sucks.
It doesn't just suck because we're human, but because people are starting to understand the value of the creator economy.
And what you're missing if you can't break into it.
The opportunities are endless for those that figure it out.
Jobs, events, networking, speaking appearances, product sales, sponsorships, etc.
Anyone holding onto the notion that social media is "silly" or "for kids" and that it's NOT the most critical piece of your personal brand portfolio...is wrong.
Creating content online is one of the best ways to level up your career, your income, and your life.
Creators will dominate the economy in the future. In fact, they are just starting. Check out some of these stats:
- 50M consider themselves part of the creator economy in 2021
- 2M creators make 6-figures
- Sponsored influencers are worth $8B
- 29% of American kids want to be YouTubers
Wild.
Want to make money as a boxer? Don't be a boxer. Be a creator.
“I can fight a fighter right now and I can guarantee myself $35 million. I can eventually probably make $50 million, for just a regular fight. Or me and Logan Paul can go out, entertain, have fun and make nine figures, $100 million or more.“$35 million for 12 rounds or $100 million for six rounds — big difference.”
- Floyd Mayweather
Remember...Don't be a boxer. Be a creator.
So, what's the catch?
The catch is that being a successful creator is a long-game play. A journey.
A skill and passion that you work on every single day. A job. Full-time work.
I started writing in 2018, albeit inconsistently. Here are my average content results (per post) from that year:
I started writing daily in 2019. You can see a change:
And kept it going in 2020:
And started doubling up in 2021:
This is visual proof that playing the long game wins.
That staying consistent with any given craft yields results if you practice long enough.
I don't create $70k+ course launches because I wrote compelling copy this month.
It's because I've been writing every single day for over 3 years.
So, if you want to join the creator economy, you just need to get started.
While there are 50M already involved, that is LESS THAN 1% of the world. We're in our infancy. The time to join is now.
So, here's my challenge for you. Write one piece of content today.
Post it tomorrow.
Enjoy the crickets.
Do it again the next day. Repeat...
I hope you'll join me.
